Cantilevered wall trusses screwed to the framing provide space for insulation.

Copper flashing covers a pitched shelf above the wall trusses, and rigid foam covers the upper walls of the house.

The shingles covering the wall trusses flair out to help disguise the overhang.

The tall walls on the house were balloon framed at full height. Walls for the bedroom on the right were platform framed after the ceiling beams had been installed.

Rigid foam inserted at the ends of the fir beams provides a thermal break at the exterior walls.

The raised heel on these roof trusses provides room for lots of insulation while the scissor chords create a vaulted ceiling for the rooms below.
