CertainTeed's newest drywall offering just came from the gym. The maker calls its new Habito product "the world's strongest 1/2-inch wallboard." The material high-density formulation eliminates the need for threaded drywall anchors or nailing into wall studs when hanging fixtures under 30 pounds. Habito's inherent durability and strength also translate to impact resistance and also deliver better sound insulation than traditional drywall. The material is ideal for high-traffic areas that will see use and abuse, as well as areas where homeowners are likely to redecorate frequently. Habito is rolling out in spring 2016. Pricing is being determined, but customers expect a multi-room upgrade to cost $300 to $500 more than standard drywall. hellohabito.com
