Seattle-based home improvement startup Pro.com has closed a $33 million series B funding round, which the company says will help hire new employees and expand into new markets, TechCrunch reports. The company currently operates in Denver, San Francisco, San Jose, and Phoenix in addition to its hometown market of Seattle. The company plans to expand into Portland, Ore., in the near future.
The company saw its job bookings grow by 275% year-over-year in 2018 and expanded its employee base. After the most recent round of funding, Pro.com has now raised a total of $60 million. Investors in the series B funding round included WestRiver Group, Goldman Sachs, and Redfin. Previous investors include DFJ, Madrona Venture Group, Maveron, and Two Sigma Ventures.
WestRiver founder Erik Anderson, Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman, and former Microsoft executive Charlotte Guyman are joining the Pro.com board.
"Many of Redfin's customers struggle to get professional renovation services, so we know firsthand that Pro.com's market opportunity is massive," writes Redfin's Kelman. "Pro.com and Redfin share a commitment to combining technology and local, direct services to best take care of customers."
Pro.com was founded in 2013 by former Amazon executives Matt Williams and Raji Subramanian.
