A Missouri roofer has been temporarily banned from doing business in Kansas by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. The roofer has been banned by court order for failure to respond to an outstanding subpoena, according to a release from the Attorney General's office.
Michael Quinn, who does business as Enviro_Logic Roofing & Restoration Services, has been temporarily banned from doing business in Kansas. District Judge Theresa Watson entered an order in Shawnee County District Court prohibiting Quinn from engaging in consumer transactions in the state until the court finds he is in compliance with the subpoena.
The attorney general alleges that Quinn solicited the sale of roofing services in Kansas without being registered as a roofing contractor as required by law. If proven, the allegations would constitute violations of the Kansas Roofing Registration Act and Kansas Consumer Protection Act.
Schmidt reminded consumers to make sure roofing contractors are properly registered before signing any contract or having any work done.
