Nearly 30 New Mexico homeowners allege a local contractor defrauded them out of money and the Las Cruces sheriff department has opened an investigation, the Las Cruces Sun-News reports. The homeowners allege exterior contractor Kolmar Development was contracted to do work that was either never performed or partially completed, with incidents dating back as far as 2016.

Four such complaints are available on the Better Business Bureau website, according to the Las Cruces Sun-News. In addition to expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of work, two of the four complaints also noted issues communicating with the contractor.

Kolmar Development is no longer in business, but specialized in exterior jobs, such as pool installations, general contracting, and fixing or installing heaters. While the contractor acknowledges he's aware that some clients allege he owes money, the owner, Daniel Flores, says other clients allegedly owe him money. He told the Las Cruces Sun-News that he can't fathom the nearly 30 people who have contacted the District Attorney's office.
