Behr's DeckOver is one of a class of super-thick finishes that the manufacturer claims can seal up cracks and splinters in old wood decking. A Washington Post reader applied it to decking in 2016, and a year later some of the coating started to peel off, exposing bare wood. According to the manufacturer, several causes could have led to the delamination, including improper prepwork and inadequate coating thickness.
