Continuous mineral-wool insulation, protected by an air barrier membrane and held in place with strapping, provides a thermal-bridge-free heat control layer.
Attaching Mineral Wool
The crew attached pieces of rigid mineral-wool insulation to the wall using screws and metal discs.
Sealing Seams
For redundant airtightness and an effective weather barrier, the crew sealed seams in the membrane using SIGA Wigluv tape.
Strapping the Wall for a Rainscreen
Three-quarter-inch strapping supplies nailing for siding, creates a capillary break for effective drainage of bulk water, and allows air movement for vapor drying.
