A heavy glass gate leads onto the deck. The gate post on the right side of the photo can be easily adjusted if expansion or contraction of the deck materials causes the framing to shift.
Glass infill allows for an unimpeded view of the harbor.
The author tensioned the gate post using hold-down hardware and a length of all-thread. One end of the threaded rod terminates at the face of the seawall, where it is accessible and can be tightened as needed to keep the gate swinging smoothly.
