A circular saw rips the joist to the snapped line.
Because of the nature of this porch, parts of the floor were framed with dropped beams (with the joists resting on top of the beam) and the center section framed with a flush beam (joists mounted on the side of the beam).
As with a standard waterproof deck, T&G subfloor is glued and nailed to the tops of the joists.
The deck used parapet walls as part of the railing. Scuppers made from square PVC sleeves are cut into the parapets for drainage.
The square tube that forms the scupper extends out beyond the eaves.
