TruExterior cuts easily with a carbide blade. According to the author, the material dulls the razor edge of the carbide; it continues to cut the siding well but will burn softwoods. To keep this from happening, the author marks the tooling (blades and router bits) that he uses exclusively for TruEx.

Because long siding boards are heavy, longer runs are easier to install with two people.

The author secures outside miters with ring-shank nails and a compatible exterior glue.
