DaVinci Roofscapes Single-Width Slate 12-inch tile
Unveiled at the
2015 International Builders’ Show, the Single-Width Slate 12-inch tile in
smokey gray is designed to look more like natural slate. Its edges have added
texture and indents to give it the appearance of real stone that came from a
quarry. There are eight different 12-inch tiles in the series and each has a
unique refined profile.They’ll be available in all color and blend options for
Single-Width Slate. Smokey Gray is DaVinci’s fiftieth color and will be the
darkest of 14 grays. It works well on the new Single-Width Slate 12-inch tile
because the dark gray is very close to natural slate’s color. Wendy Bruch,
marketing manager at DaVinci Roofscapes, explains that gray is “more of a
‘staple’ than a trend” in the roofing industry because historically slate and
shake roof products were gray or weathered gray. She says DaVinci introduced
smokey gray “to meet requests for a richer, deeper shade of gray on our roof
tiles.”

Formica Jonathan Adler Collection
Formica partnered with renowned design icon, Jonathan Adler, to create the Jonathan Adler Collection. The three styles represent a modern update of classic materials. Lacquered Linen resembles the fabric and was inspired by Mid-Century Modern furniture. Malachite gets its look from a combination of precious stones and patterns of the 1960s and 70s. Greek Key is a timeless pattern that’s made fresh using bold tone-on-tone color. The new collection offers gray as its neutral option, you can also choose bold colors such as orange and blue. “Jonathan personally selected all the pattern and color combinations for his new introduction," says Gerri Chmiel, senior design manager at Formica. "Having a charcoal color option available in addition to the brighter colors, gives consumers of all design mindsets something to choose from.”
Daltile Crystal Shores
Add color and texture to your space with these crackled glass and metallic mosaic blends. The tiles work well in a bathroom or as an accent wall. Crystal Shores just became available at the end of March. The product comes in 2-by-1-inch brick-joint or random linear patterns, with six colors to choose from. Daltile senior marketing manager April Wilson says, “Crystal Shores is a perfect example of creating dimensionality even with traditionally neutral color palettes.”
TimberTech Legacy Collection Ashwood
The warm gray color, Ashwood, was recently added to TimberTech’s Legacy Collection. Ashwood is the first gray in the collection, joining Mocha, Pecan, and Tigerwood. It gives decks an antique look resembling hand-hewn lumber, without the maintenance or disrepair. The product is scratch, stain, and fade resistant and comes with a 25-year fade and stain warranty. The Legacy Collection is available in 12-, 16-, and 20-foot lengths with color-coordinated fascia and risers.
