Subway tile with gray grout, black granite countertops and black/stainless steel appliances help to complement the washer and dryer while black marmoleum floor unifies the two separate spaces.

Renaissance Remodeling transformed the laundry room of this Boise home built in 1935 into an inviting back entrance to the home and gateway to the backyard. Open shelving offers a clean look and maintains the old-world charm, while the concrete floor stained in charcoal provides a sturdy and solid complement to the crisp white paint. The steps that lead to the main part of the house were updated with a fresh coat of white paint on the risers and topped with wooden treads, stained in a dark espresso finish.
