Design, engineering and construction info and considerations:
To open up space in the recreation room, a new steel support beam was installed so that an existing steel column could be removed to create the open area where the couch was to be placed. New windows were added to allow more natural light into the basement, which required removing parts of the basement’s concrete walls.
The basement’s walls and ceiling are sound-insulated to keep noise from each room contained and especially to keep the noise from the main room and playroom from disturbing those upstairs or using the office/guestroom.
Other basement elements include quartz countertops, a custom curved wood countertop, energy-saving LED lighting, Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring, custom made metal handrails for the steps, custom cabinetry, home automation, custom glass doors, decorative accent tile, LED mirror with Bluetooth speakers, a floating vanity, sound insulation, decorative ceiling beams, square black recess lighting trims, craftsman style doors and hardware, and mirrors in the gym.
