Smart home products like sensors and voice-controlled personal assistant devices can improve safety, security, and energy efficiency in homes. Remodelers can fall-proof homes by installing more handrails near stairs, modifying entryways to make the transition from outside to inside easier, and choosing slip-resistant flooring materials.
Remodelers can do the most benefit towards potentially older clients by renovating bathrooms with universal design in mind. Universal toilets, walk-in showers, and grab bars can all go a long way to making a bathroom accessible to allow aging in place to occur.
