Tape Measure Shootout

The crew at Toolbox Buzz went to great lengths to determine which tape measure was the best. Seven brands were tested: DeWalt, Klein, Milwaukee, Stanley (two models), Tajima, Komelon, and Lufkin. Test criteria included: recoil speed, abrasion resistance / wear, magnetic pull strength (when applicable), debris recoil, standout, hook movement, ergonomics, readability, and drop testing. The results of each test were scored and then added up. The top two tapes - from Stanley and Lufkin - were only 1 point away from tying.
