In case the articulating Iron Man suit of a tailgate isn’t enough for you, GMC is bringing the stuff of the super-car, America’s Cup boats, and high-end bicycles—carbon fiber—into the truck beds of the 1500 Denali series of pick-ups. While pricing isn’t available yet, according to MSN Autos, it does say that switching from steel to CF doesn’t add production cost. And it enables GMC to mold features into the bed—instead of bolting or welding them. In this iteration, the bed will have a notch for a motorcycle tire and molded-in tie-downs. If you positively have to have carbon fiber in your work truck, it will be available only on the Sierra Denali 1500 trim package.
