A family of four in Arlington, Va., wanted to open up the spaces in their Colonial-style home. By installing ceiling-to-floor windows and rebuilding the second-floor exterior walls and roof, FAIA Robert Gurney was able to drastically transform this house and create two additional bedrooms.
