American Forests, a non-profit conservation organization, and Danby Refrigerators have teamed up to produce “Artists for a Cool Planet.” For the program, 10 renowned artists have created original paintings and photographs to be reproduced on refrigerator doors. For each Danby Art Cooler sold, American Forests will plant 10 trees. “The 10 trees will offset the carbon used to run the Danby Art Cooler over its lifetime,” says Jeff Meyer, director of American Forests' Historic Tree Nursery. The art is available on Danby's line of refrigerators, compact refrigerators, and wine coolers. Artists include landscape photographer Clyde Butcher, painter Christian Riese-Lassen, and glass sculpture artist Richard Jolley (whose design is shown above).
