Like most contractors, I seldom give much thought to how much
stuff I lug around every day. That changed earlier this spring,
when I decided to get all my tools and supplies in order. One
sunny Sunday afternoon, I unloaded my 8-foot-by-16-foot
enclosed trailer with my father's help. When everything (except
for a 5-foot-tall mechanic's box) was out of the vehicle and
neatly lined up on the street, I was amazed at how much had
been inside. So amazed, in fact, I snapped a couple of pictures
to document it all. Who'd have guessed that a contractor
accumulates so much equipment?
It was a productive afternoon. Getting my trailer organized
again was great — but spending the day with my dad was
definitely the best part.
