Cordless tools have made quite a splash in recent years. When the first cordless "screwdrivers" were introduced about a decade ago, they were no more than consumer novelties. But increased battery power, improved motor design, and innovative gearing systems have brought battery-operated drills into the mainstream of professional tools.
