A warm color palette, contrasting materials, and an open floor plan combine to create this inviting space. The homeowners gave the designers a general wish list that included a family room, entry, and deck, then gave them the freedom to create.
The designers produced a plan that relocates the entry to the side of the house to link it to the garage. They also opened the existing breezeway roof to flood light into a serene entry formed with slatted screens, moss, and stepping-stones. A plaster wall in deep melon draws visitors into the slate-tiled foyer.
