Pro.com, the price-quoting website that connects clients and remodelers, will now include the option to order materials thanks to a partnership with Build.com.
The end goal for both companies is to create as straightforward of an experience for the user as possible. "Homeowners can not only choose from thousands of quality products, but also get a reliable labor estimate, and find the right pro to get it done," writes a Build.com DIY specialist on the new partnership, which lets users browse more than 700,000 products.
Pro.com, which launched in May after raising $3.5 million in seed funding from six venture capital firms, is led by Matt Williams, ex-Amazon executive and former CEO of the aggregation site Digg. Williams told Business Insider in a July 14 article that more than half of Pro.com's 30-person roster worked at Amazon in the past.
