Getting plans and specs out to subcontractors, then waiting to get bids back from them, is time-consuming," says Craig Tice, of Tice Construction in Spooner, Wis. To expedite this crucial process, the company put a bid-submittal form on its Web site. "This is a quicker way," Tice says.

"Now, we just say, 'Go to the site and bid this job,'" Tice says.

Subs are given a password, which gives them online access to client information, plans, and specs. Once they complete the form, they can download it and attach it to an e-mail to Tice or print and fax it to the company.
