WaterFurnace is introducing an online platform to complement its 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series geothermal heat pump systems. The Symphony web-enabled platform provides control of, and real-time feedback for homeowners and installers from any smartphone, tablet, or computer.

By connecting the system's Aurora controls with a WebLink router, users have cloud-based access to adjust temperature settings, view operational status and history, and monitor alerts, energy usage, zone temperatures, and local weather. An internet-connected thermostat further allows homeowners to set schedules, check vacation mode, and more, and all of the system's functions can be reached via smartphone or tablet. Homeowners can also track their energy use over the past 13 months, including details on equipment staging, heating time, cooling time, and fan use.

Symphony can also provide equipment alerts and service reminders via text, e-mail, and in-app notifications for both homeowners and dealers or contractors. Service technicians can log into their customers' systems to view faults, operating conditions, and sensor readings without having to visit the home. If a service call is needed, contractors can begin working on the solution immediately. Detailed data is also available over the web via a Technician Portal that displays real-time parameters commonly reviewed when troubleshooting a heat pump. Additionally, since the system takes a snapshot of more than 100 data points every 10 seconds, technicians can search for faults and review detailed performance graphs to diagnose issues. Altogether, the easy access leads to potential time and cost savings for diagnostics, repairs, and unnecessary jobsite visits. waterfurnace.com
