Fortress Building Products is expanding into a new product category with Fortress cladding, a composite and PVC product designed as a wood-look alternative for building façades and rainscreen assemblies.

The Fortress cladding’s performance attributes are sourced from the manufacturer’s existing Infinity and Apex decking lines. Customers can choose between co-extruded bamboo-plastic composite Infinity boards or capped bamboo-plastic PVC Apex cladding boards, each with non-repeating grain patterns and enhanced wood grain textures. The boards are UV, fade, and moisture-resistant, and do not require staining or resealing throughout their lifetimes.

Both product lines are comprised of Forest Stewardship Council certified bamboo fiber and recycled plastics, and allow for an easy installation process without the need for specialty equipment or methods. According to the manufacturer, these sustainable materials, short lead times, and an inexpensive installation process lead to lower costs for installers.

“There’s no denying that wood offers a sought-after aesthetic for façades and rainscreen assemblies, however, the sun and rain’s weathering effects are relentless and progressive,” says Bill Ross, director, composite category, for Fortress Building Products. “Since Fortress cladding can endure even the harshest of elements, building designers can have confidence that the finished product will look as beautiful as it does on day one for years to come.”

Fortress Infinity is available in four in-stock and nine special order colors inspired by tropical hardwoods, while Fortress Apex is available in four in-stock and seven special order colors inspired by exotic hardwoods. fortressbp.com
