Try these design ideas borrowed from the hospitality industry for your next guest room, multi-generational living space, and income suite projects. These special touches won’t go unappreciated.
Throw in the Towel
Just as important as a set of fresh guest towels is having those towels in convenient places. In addition to bars or warmers on the wall for large bath sheets, consider mounting a towel bar to the front of the vanity. Hand towels and washcloths will be within easy grasp, and guests won’t have to fumble around with dripping hands and faces. Proper Plug-In
Make guests lives’ easier with hard-wired power strips in the bathroom and USB ports by the night stand. Whether they’re plugging in a curling iron in the morning or charging their phone for the night, they’ll appreciate not having to search for an open outlet. Task Lighting’s angled power strip is shown, and Leviton, Docking Drawer, and other manufacturers offer versatile solutions.
Grab a Mug
Depending on the purpose of the room, a mini-bar can make a guest suite even sweeter. Spaces designed for short- or long-term rental will benefit from larger kitchenettes with a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge, while a simpler guest room might need just a spot for coffee and snacks. Tune In
An in-mirror TV will give guests a touch of luxe. Use a bathroom mirror installation to accompany guests as they start or end their days, or try a framed model that serves as a wall mirror or artwork without taking up the wall space of both a TV and décor. Brands like Electric Mirror (shown), Clearview TV, and Frame My TV offer a variety of options and price points.
