A year after launching its MotionSense technology, Moen is continuing to make the hands-free option available on more new designs, including the Brantford pulldown kitchen faucet. The classic design is available in single- or three-hole designs, and comes in chrome, oil-rubbed bronze, or Moen's Spot Resist Stainless finish, which resists fingerprints and water spots.
In terms of technology, MotionSense makes it easier to do everything from filling a glass to washing grimy hands. A Wave sensor at the top of the faucet starts and stops the water flow with a simple hand motion, while the Ready sensor near the faucet base detects when objects like hands or a dish are placed beneath the spout, and runs for as long as that object remains in range. The handle on the side of the faucet offers manual operation so users can adjust the water flow and temperature.
As a hands-free kitchen option, MotionSense all but eliminates the need to touch the faucet, which helps reduce the spread of germs. The automatic shut-off also helps save water. The feature is powered by a battery pack; an LED light on the faucet lets users know when the batteries are low, typically after about a year of use.
The Brantford faucet features Moen's Reflex system, which offers a longer hose, wide range of motion, self-retraction of the pull-down, and secure docking. The faucet also uses the Moen 1225 Duralast cartridge for smooth operation. Each Brantford pulldown kitchen faucet with MotionSense is backed by a five-year warranty for all electronics, plus a limited lifetime warranty for finishes and mechanical components.
