Garage doors effectively replace a full exterior wall of some homes, and these days entry-level models aren't always enough to fill that hole. Three-layer 1 3 /8- or 2-inch expanded polystyrene insulation is pressure bonded to interior and exterior steel skins. Both models have a thermal break for increased insulation, and achieve an R-value of 6.5 for the 1 3/8-inch model, or 9 for the 2-inch model.
