FinPan’s TI-ProBoard is a fiberglass-composite panel designed as a structural substrate for exterior tile installations. The ribbed panels are installed directly over joists 16 inches on-center without the need for deck boards or other support. The panels are 12 inches wide and available in lengths of 8 feet and 12 feet, and can be cut to length with a wet saw. After the interlocking boards are screwed to the deck framing, installers fill the surface with a scratch coat, and then lay porcelain tile with thinset adhesive. The company says ProBoard has a low expansion/contraction coefficient, won’t warp or support the growth of mold, and is approved for commercial installations.
