Last year blade manufacturer Diablo and composite decking producer Trex introduced a new line of saw blades designed for cutting composite decking. According to the manufacturers, it is the first saw blade specifically made to cut composite materials and is designed to remain cool while cutting, thereby providing melt-free cuts (no swirl marks).
The blade series—which comes in 7 1/4", 10" (shown), and 12" sizes—features a modified triple chip tooth grind design, Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating, and a specially formulated TiCo Hi-Density carbide blend. According to Diablo, the blades' super thin-kerf design requires less cutting power and gives the product an ultra-long cutting life.
