Like most contractors, Bobby Parks owned just a single cellphone for years. And because he used it for both personal and work-related calls, he would end up taking work calls in the evenings, on weekends, and even on vacation. He’d talk to clients and employees, listen to messages, or check texts during what should have been off-duty time, and because these would often be about a perceived problem on a job or an upset customer, he found the worries would end up impacting his sleep time as well. He discovered over time that the problem was rarely as serious as it initially seemed - and he always handled it the next day.
