After testing dozens of cleanup sites for regulated contaminants, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) says that it has found no evidence of contamination exceeding Federal workplace standards, The Wall Street Journal reports (“ OSHA: Sandy contamination below permissible limits,” by Associated Press). But in a news release, OSHA regional official Robert Kulick stressed that caution is still advised, saying: “These initial results should not be taken by employers as an ‘all clear’ signal regarding potential exposure to health hazards. It is important that each employer continually ensure that workers are not overexposed.”
