Home professionals experienced a 58% increase in project leads during the month of June compared to the same period in 2019, according to a Houzz report. In particular, professionals working on outdoor spaces have experienced the greatest increase in demand, with June 2020 searches for pool and spa professionals three times higher than a year ago.
Demand for landscape contractors and deck and patio professionals have more than doubled on a year-over-year (YOY) basis, according to Houzz. Kitchen and bath remodelers experienced a 40% increase in demand during the month of June compared with June 2019.
"There is an incredible rise in consumer interest for home improvement projects across the country, and people are coming to Houzz to find professionals for major projects like new swimming pools and decks, as well as for more modest outdoor improvements like tree planting and fencing," Liza Hausman, vice president of industry marketing at Houzz, said in a prepared statement.
According to Houzz, swimming pool design and installation projects more than quadrupled on a YOY basis in June, deck and porch project inquiries nearly tripled YOY, and home extensions and additions grew by 52%. Houzz found that homeowners are also seeking more privacy and security through fence installations and repair projects.
Home renovation platform Houzz has more than 2.5 million home renovation and design professionals across the world. The company recently launched Houzz Pro, a subscription-based tool that helps home professionals run efficient businesses while making it easy for them to reach new customers. The Houzz Pro platform offers website building services and lead and business management tools.
