Drones aren’t just for delivering Hellfire missiles and packages from Amazon. Bellingham Washington deck builder Tyler Van Katwijk of Artistic Decks recently equipped a DJI Flamewheel F450 quadcopter with a GoPro II video camera to capture aerial views of his deck projects. Van Katwijk modified the quadcopter with landing gear and a gimbal mount for the GoPro. To make sure the unit returns to its take-off position, the quadcopter is equipped with a GPS – a good thing, since Van Katwijk reports that his drone has a range of about a mile.
