All manufactured products are warranted as fit for their stated purpose. A buyer who purchases a laminate labeled for use as a countertop, for example, is entitled to expect that the laminate can actually be used in kitchens and bathrooms and other places where countertops are usually installed. Even when the manufacturer does not explicitly offer a fitness-of-purpose warranty, the law implies one. A fitness-of-purpose warranty can, however, be limited.
