To keep monthly meetings on task, Basnett Design-Build-Remodel in Littleton, Mass., created this form based on suggestions from the project supervisors in the field. “We'd often say, ‘Yeah, that's a good idea,' but we never had a way to decide to implement our ideas,” says president Jim Basnett. “This is a way to make sure each project is being run as close to the same as they can be.”
The form highlights several key areas, including warranties, tool and vehicle maintenance, problems with subcontractors or vendors, and a system to keep tabs on evolving products and techniques.
Blank lines provide room for notes, and the form can be easily updated electronically, then distributed to team members. Plus, the form is useful in subsequent meetings. “Now in every meeting we can literally track what was discussed, and things don't fall through the cracks,” Basnett says.
