The 2013 Parade of Homes hosted by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo didn't have as much on offer this year as in years past, reports the Kalamazoo Gazette ("2013 Parade of Homes: Quality beat quantity for the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo," by Al Jones). It's not a good year for spec houses, commented HBA marketing director Amanda Kuchnicki: "People aren't able to build a spec home and float it until it's sold," Kuchnicki said. "They are more looking for a home that is already bought."
That meant only 21 houses in the Parade, down from 41 in previous years, Kuchnicki said. But she said local people made 32,000 visits to houses in the show, with each attendee viewing 8 or more houses on average.
