Contractors have a new educational resource available online at www.contractorsknowledgenetwork.org. Sponsored by the Foundation of the American Subcontractors Association (FASA), the Contractors' Knowledge Network consists of four parts. The retail section, called the Contractor's Knowledge Depot, will allow visitors to shop online for products from the association, including both print and CD-ROM instructional materials. The network also includes the Contractors' Knowledge Quest, a research program, and the Contractors' Knowledge Bank, a "searchable online library of articles, kits, white papers, and other materials that promote sound business management principles," an FASA press release states.
The fourth part of the network is the association's new quarterly journal, The Contractors' Compass, which will begin publication with the Fall 2002 issue and will "focus on the business management needs of subcontractors and specialty trade contractors," the release states. The journal will replace the association's current newsletter, The Subcontractor.
While some resources on the network will be restricted to members of the American Subcontractors' Association, most will be available to anyone with Internet access.
