Restoration Hardware has recalled about 3,200 children's chairs and stools due to violations of federal lead-paint standards, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall involves Vintage Steel Play Chairs and Stools sold in a distressed red color under the "Play Chair," "Tall Play Chair," "Play Stool," and "Step Stool" model names. The chairs have curved, tubular back frames and a single vertical slat with an embossed seat. The stools have a curved frame and an embossed seat with a hand grip.

Paint on the chairs and stools contains levels of lead that exceed the federal lead-paint ban, according to the CPSC. The chairs and stools were sold at Restoration Hardware children and teen stores, warehouses, and outlets nationwide and online from October 2012 through May 2019. Consumers should stop using the recalled chairs and contact Restoration Hardware for a full refund for the purchase price, according to the CPSC.
