Gayler Construction has a new spin on that old standby, the jobsite sign. The Danville, Calif.-based remodeler boldly puts the start date out there, along with the usual company information. The company prides itself on completing jobs efficiently, and the signs work as both a marketing tool and a reassurance to current customers.

"It certainly piques interest," says co-owner Darlene Gayler. "And it gives people peace of mind. No one wants you in their house for six months."

The company focuses on preconstruction to make sure that once a job starts, the work is uninterrupted. "You've got to have your ducks in a row to do this," Gayler says.
