In the last couple of posts, I’ve talked about the importance of using Twitter for your business and have suggested ways that you can optimize your presence on Twitter to generate more followers and leads.
In this post, I’m going to share with you some valuable resources to help give Twitter additional fuel for an even greater impact for your business — and, surprisingly, these tools are ones that I find many local business owners don’t even know exist.
TweetChat. Twitter “chats” are a great way to network and connect with others on Twitter, and to build visibility by sharing your knowledge and expertise. Currently there are more than 300 regularly scheduled chats, and TweetChat allows you to participate by selecting a chat’s hashtag. Once you’re logged into a chat, wait for the moderator to post questions, then begin to share and interact with other participants.
HootSuite, TweetDeck, and Buffer. Many business owners simply don’t have the time to be logged into Twitter all day long. Fortunately, micro-blogging platforms, such as HootSuite, TweetDeck, and Buffer, can help with time management by enabling you to schedule your tweets ahead of time. These platforms also make it possible for you to micro-blog to all of your social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, your blog, etc.) at once.
Twitter Guide for Small Business. This free PDF download has lots of useful information to help you get the most out of Twitter for your business.
Twitter for Small Business Help. Like the PDF mentioned above, this website provides a lot of useful information for business owners and marketers. It also offers several paid services, including promoted tweets and advertising.
If you don’t have a Twitter account, then I suggest you set one up within the next week with a complete and accurate profile. From there, use these tools to start getting the most out of Twitter for your business sooner rather than later. Good luck! —Chris Marentis is founder and CEO of Surefire Social, a local Internet marketing company.
