In the articles Replacing a Wooden Gutter and Soldering Seams (Feb 2014), remodeler Kyle Diamond describes a custom copper-lined gutter replacement project on a Hudson Valley, NY home; portions of which date back to the late-18th century. The crew had to compensate for a bowed and sagging wall in order for the new gutter to drain properly. In this series of companion videos, Diamond demonstrates prepping the soldering iron, "tinning" the tip, and the techniques used for soldering both vertical and horizontal seams.
