Trim Tightener. The Mitertite makes miter joints in window and door casing that stay tight over time. The inside corners of miters typically pull apart as the wood dries and shrinks, but this system relies on compressing the joint to keep it tight. With micro-adjusting fence jigs that fit your miter saw, you fine-tune each miter cut 1/10 degree over 45 to make a corner joint that is slightly sprung open. Then you screw and glue together the miter's outside corner using the kit's angled pocket-hole jig. When the pieces of casing are assembled into a frame, you nail the head up and pull in the legs, which compresses the joint for good. The $297 kit includes a plug cutter and unique miter clamps.
