Daylighting has become all the rage in residential and commercial buildings. The added light, which can save on lighting energy (but may not always add up to total energy savings), is often brought into the building with skylights--those fancy holes in the roof that once were a nemesis to roofers. Among roofing pros, annoyance tended to be the rule with those funky bubble skylights that got slapped down by homeowners with a slobbering of asphalt cement. These days, high-end skylights with flashing kits practically install themselves ... Well, provided you're a pro who's done it before.
