A new rigid insulation board called Amofoam-RCY is a "green" product in more ways than one. Not only is it green in color, it's made with a minimum of 50% recycled polystyrene resin recovered from disposable cups, plates, bowls, and other packaging that would otherwise be discarded and end up in landfills. According to the manufacturer, the foam exhibits the same compressive strength, R-value, and resistance to water absorption as its other extruded polystyrene products. The company was also the first to eliminate CFCs from its manufacturing process. Amofoam-RCY comes in 2x8 and 4x8 sheets in thicknesses of 1, 11/2, and 2 inches.
