Flame Out

LP has relaunched its FlameBlock technology in eight different wall assemblies, and has also brought the feature to I-joists. With a magnesium oxide cement coating, the joists are designed for use over unfinished basements and are able to withstand the heat and damage of flames so upper floors don't collapse onto basements. Called ForceField, the panel joints are taped with ForceField seam tape that can be torn by hand, creating an integrated air and water barrier system and eliminating the need for housewrap.
