The kitchen in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Innoventions pavilion envisions what the future kitchen will be like.
The 100,000-square-foot pavilion at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is an interactive environment providing hands-on exhibits. The goal: Encourage visitors to explore and discover how science and technology can simplify and enhance their lives today and in the future.
“The challenge with the House of Innoventions is to push the envelope and get our guests comfortable about trying out new ideas in their own homes,” says Joe Tankersley, senior show writer at Disney.
The kitchen includes a series of concept products by Poggenpohl and Siemens.
Poggenpohl's Plusmodo kitchen, designed by Jorge Pensi, is based on the concept of concealing and revealing. “The colors and lack of clutter in the house let the modern design speak for it[self] and maintain a clean look,” says senior set designer Katie Roser.
