Green Cabinets. The cabinet boxes in Crystal Cabinet Works' Green-Core line are made from either 100 percent recycled exterior-grade particleboard or plywood containing a soy-based resin. Doors and drawer fronts are produced in Lyptus (a plantation-grown eucalyptus from South America) or bamboo. The collection includes an island unit in carbonized bamboo (shown) that sells for about $3,500.

Keep Dry. Broan's Ultra Silent series bathroom fans take over when homeowners forget. The company says the units turn on or off automatically based on humidity levels.
