To make it easier for architects and designers to specify KitchenAid appliances, the company is offering 3-D appliance models for the 3D Warehouse Web site on Google's SketchUp. The models include indoor and outdoor appliance suites, so these professionals can create complementary designs for both areas.

The Google 3D Warehouse is a repository of 3-D building objects that expedites the design process. SketchUp models can be converted into all major CAD products without having to draw designs twice. These include Graphisoft, Archicad 10, Autodesk, AutoCAD, and VectorWorks Architect.

“The growing trend in outdoor entertainment motivated us to create appliance models for outdoor kitchens in addition to the popular KitchenAid Architect series and Architect II series,” says Mark Johnson, architect and senior manager of architecture and design marketing at Whirlpool.
