You've probably got more forms than you want -- stored on your computer, piled on your desk, filed away in cabinets. But despite that plethora of paper, you might still ask yourself, "Do I have all the forms I need?"
If the answer is "no," then you might want to pick up Form Builder, a series of CDs from BuilderBooks, the publishing arm of NAHB. Each of the four discs includes at least 100 forms. The first release, Form Builder: Contracts, has more than 150 entries, from forms that deal with change orders to ones that deal with subs. Some contracts are specifically for home builders, some for remodelers, and some are useful to both.
According to Jenny Stewart, assistant editor at BuilderBooks, Form Builder: Contracts was the number one seller in its first month of sales. The marketing and sales CD was released just prior to press time, with editions for human resources and customer service to follow in early 2004.
Many of the forms are pulled from other BuilderBooks publications, but these CDs give "users a place to get them all at once," Stewart says. They are designed to be customized by individual companies.
